In an effort to support the Flood Appeal for the Brisbane Croatian Club at Rocklea a fund raising event will be held down on the Gold Coast at the Croatian Sports Centre Carrara on Saturday 29 January 2011. The Group will be performing to support the event. All money raised during the day will be going to Rocklea Club to help rebuild what was lost in this mounts flood.
Practice for the group will be at the Croatian Sports Centre prior to the performance on Saturday 29 January 2011.

The Croatian Folkloric Dance Group "Brisbane" is to comence weekly practice from the 21 January 2011. A change of venue for practice has been forced upon us as the devastating floods sweeped through the Croatian Club situated at Rocklea. The lower floor was totally comsumed by the flood waters and is now a right off. Volunteers during the week-end have striped the bottom floor down to a concrete shell. It will be some time before the club is restored.
Practice must commence for the group as a performance for the flood appeal on the Gold Coast has been organised. The address for practice is:

A start time of 7:00pm has been scheduled.

The Croatian Folkloric Dance Group "Brisbane" is on its annual recreation break. Practice for 2010 has now ceased and will re-commence inJanuary 2011 in conjuction with the school year.

A performance has been arranged for us at Sunnybank this coming Sunday as a result a short practice is neccessary tonight (Friday 11 June) for preparation of the performance and to organise collection of nosnje. Commecement will be 7:30pm sharp hope to see you all there.
The nosnja room was locked tonight preventing anyone getting their nosnja for Sundays performance. It has been organised that access will be available at 12:00pm just prior to the performance. It has been suggested that we meet their and get dressed and head down to the corner of Beenleigh Road and Keats street. The performance is scheduled for 2:00pm so those making their way directly to the Croatian Food festival site should be there no later than 1:30pm.
The repertoire will consist of singing both Australian and Croatian anthems, 2 musical pieces from the band, singing Alaj Fino to Baranjsko Vino, dancing Baranja and a kolo with the guests.

A performance at the Mondo Resturant Hardgrave Road West End is scheduled for Saturday Night 6 June 2010. Performaers are to be there by 7:45pm fully dressed in nosnja. It might be a good idea if you car pool as we are not sure how much parking will be available near the resturant. We will be performing Alaj Fino to Baransko Vino, Medimurje, 2 songs from the band and a kolo with the guests.

The Croatian Folk Dance Group Brisbane (CFDGBne) is organising a Movie Day out as part of its fundraising activities. CFDGBne has hired out a cinema for a special one off screening.
The group is inviting all dancers families and friends to come along and enjoy the comical sequel Wogs Out of Work 2. It is hoped that over 100 people will come and enjoy an afternoon at the movies and help support the groups efforts to raise money for its much needed coffers.

Notice to all dancers and members that practice has been changed from a Friday night to Sunday afternoon comencing at 5:00pm. Sunday practice will commence this Sunday 16 May 2010.
It is hoped that the change of time will enable a better attandance record and a more concentrated effort by dancers.

As this trip would take place during the September School Holidays, only working parents would need to take three days leave.

PROPOSED ITINERARY:
We would be performing at the Annual Perth Royal Show at the Claremont Showgrounds. The show opens on Saturday, 25 September so we would perform there on Saturday/Sunday and also do performances within the Croatian community.

The Croatian Folkloric Dance Group "Brisbane" is recommencing training this week. Training will commence at 7:30pm sharp on Friday, 5 February 2010.
Old faces as well as new ones are all welcome to learn and have fun whilst learning about Croatian heritage, language, traditions, music and folklore.
It's going to be a big year and much is expected from each individual to apply themselves to the best of their ability. An enhanced repertoire consisting of existing and new material is a goal for this year.
Should our goal be achieved this would greatly improve the chances of the group to perform a tour of Croatia in 2011.
